Stephanie’s Bridals!

We actually shot Stephanie’s bridals over a month ago, but she wanted these to be a surprise for her fiancé on the wedding day, so we’ve had to sit tight on sharing these sexy, smoldering images until then. And its been tough!! As of tonight, however, Danny & Stephanie are married and we are free to give you a glimpse of some highlights from our session with this beautiful Texas transplant. (more…)

Pepper On the Air!

Kcpw ShortPepper will appear LIVE (the FCC requires you to put “LIVE” in all caps like that – its the law) on KCPW public radio on Saturday, March 31st in support of KCPW’s fund-drive between 2:30 – 3:00 PM. We have donated a Family Session as well as a Family Album package which will be auctioned off on-the-air at 3pm and 6pm, respectively. We urge you to tune in and bid – it goes to support the community and you could get us at quite a bargain, to boot.

PNP Awarded in International Print Competition

Boys Being Boys ThumbPepper Nix was awarded with an Accolade of Excellence in the 16×20 print competition this week at the 2007 Wedding & Portrait Photographers International (WPPI) convention in Las Vegas, NV. WPPI is the largest gathering of wedding and portrait photographers in the world, this year topping 10,000 attendees from 37 different countries. Many people were surprised to learn that this is the first time that Pepper has entered into print competition and she feels she learned a lot…and has a lot more to learn.   Print competition is about a lot more than image creation. Mexico Destination Wedding Profiled in ‘San Diego Bride & Groom’

ThumbSan Diego Bride & Groom magazine has featured the wedding of Lindsay Pike & Ross Farmer in their Spring 2007 issue as the focus of an article on destination weddings in Baja, Mexico. Pepper and Mitch are proud to be able to share this beautiful cliff-side celebration with the couple’s home town of San Diego and their neighbors to the south. (more…)

They were married at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Park City UT [which is one of my favorite Catholic churches, this and Saint Edward's in Dana Point CA] with a gorgeous reception at Deer Valley’s Empire Canyon Lodge.

In Memoriam: Monte Zucker 1929-2007

Monte Zucker-1Today the photographic community learns of the passing of a legend, Monte Zucker. Monte was one of a handful of photographers whose work defined portraiture and lighting in the 20th century. His influence reverberates today through the literally thousands of students with whom he shared his gifts over the course of his 50+ year career. Many of today’s most celebrated photographers credit Monte for helping them ’see the light’, literally and figuratively. We are diminished by his loss, yet have been enriched to such a greater degree by his presence that it seems most fitting to celebrate his life rather than mourn his passing.

PNP Joins Program Advisory Committee for The Art Institute

Pepper has been asked to sit on the Program Advisory Committee for the new Art Institute – Salt Lake City (opening August ‘07 in Draper). The PAC exists to review and advise on the curriculum for the newly developed Bachelors of Science in Digital Photography degree and to make ongoing recommendations for the future direction of program. We might step in as a guest speaker from time to time as well. (more…)
