Jane and Brian were married this fall at the Salt Lake LDS temple. I think sometimes brides underestimate the beauty that comes with fall weather. It makes such colorful and fun backdrops especially for a bride in white. Jane and Brian are both in their late 20s, not your typical LDS couple, so they had some definite ideas about what they wanted for their wedding and what they didn’t want for their weddingday to make it perfect for them and their families. I’m delighted to say everything went as planned, the bride and groom were delighted, and the pictures are some of my favorite! Don’t you just love fall weddings?! [I may be biased since I got married in September, but I still think fall weddings can't be beat!]

OK, so how is this for cool? Scott and Elizabeth got married 10 years ago. Because Elizabeth has no sisters and had recently lost her mother when she got married, she didn’t have an awesome support group to help her plan everything out. It was an OK wedding, but not the dream wedding Elizabeth had hoped for, and in the 10 year since it’s been a sort of bummer for her. But now things have changed! Since her wedding to Scott, she has inherited 2 amazing sisters-in-law who adore her, and so they, along with Elizabeth’s father and husband, planned out a surprise 10th anniversary party for her! Complete with amazing photographer, stunning flowers, and the location she always wanted, the Empire Room and the Joseph Smith Memorial Building!

Can I just tell you how much I love winter weddings? Katy & Chris are from Newport Beach, but chose to get married in Park City Utah for a beautiful change of scenery for all of their guests. Katy and Chris will always be one of my favorite couples, not just for the way that they look at each other [thanks for the great pictures guys!] but for their willingness to try out some fun ideas and flexibility when the weather got bad, producing some of my favorite shots I’ve ever had the privilege taking. Here’s their story:

Tiffany and Rob were married in the gorgeous mountains of Colorado. The ceremony was held up the canyon among the red rock so I made sure to get some pictures of the bride and groom with the mountain scenery. It was cool because the background was so rugged and made an interesting contrast against their elegant attire. The groom is native to Park City, Utah [where I had the opportunity to photograph his sister's wedding], and being outdoors is very much a part of who he is, so having the wedding in the mountains of Colorado was perfect.

Kathy and Ian were married in Huntington Beach, California at St. Mary’s by the Sea. The sun shining through the stained glass windows made the cathedral glow. Both families and so many friends came from different parts of the world, to witness the bride and groom as they knelt at the alter and declared their love and commitment to each other, in a beautiful ceremony filled with traditions from the Catholic faith.

Day Four – The wedding may have been over but the party still went on. Everyone gathered the next day for brunch and laughed about what happened the previous night … some could remember more than others
And eventually, the goodbye’s began to increase. Although the days seemed to fly by, the memories of them kept us smiling as we traveled back home again.

Day three – The wedding day has arrived! Everyone was dressed in their best and couldn’t wait to see Lindsay and Johann tie the knot. Keeping with tradition, the bride and groom didn’t want to see each other until the ceremony at sunset that evening. So, while the women relaxed at the spa and slowly got dressed, the boys spent the day talking over beers anxiously awaiting the ceremony to begin.

Day two was a fun day mixed with relaxing at the beach, rehearsing for the ceremony, and dinner with family and friends who came all the way to Mexico to celebrate with the bride and groom.

Day one – We arrived in Mexico! When the plane landed and all I could see were these beautiful palm trees everywhere, I felt like we were in a tropical rain forest. It was the coolest thing ever! I have traveled a lot of places but, this was a part of the world I have never been to. And, if you’re going to come to Mexico, this is the way to see it! Oh and by the way, when you get off a plane in a foreign country and someone says they will give you a free ride to and from the hotel with breakfast included, you should know it is their attempt to stick you in a room and make you listen to a time share presentation.

Porscha and Ted’s wedding this past April was so colorful and charming! They incorporated elements from Porscha’s Japanese heritage into their floral designs as well as their wedding cakes. I say cakes, plural, because each table had its own cake centerpiece wishing the guests well in English and in Japanese. With tables named Love, Friendship, Happiness, it set the mood for many happy thoughts and well wishes! [Not to mention a few watering mouths, the cakes smelled SO GOOD and they were everywhere!]

Sara Wikstrom and Jay Schulze’s mountainside wedding at the world-famous Deer Valley Resort was featured in Orange County’s “Ceremony” magazine! We are proud to show work that included such a beautiful back-drop…and the Bride and Groom didn’t look too bad either! These two were absolutely glowing. They made their wedding extraordinary by paying attention to the details and sparing no effort when it came to making their guests feel special!

We were featured in the 10th Anniversary edition of Utah Bride and Groom! I was excited to shoot such a gorgeous wedding, which also happened to be my 30th birthday! Seriously, if you’re going to work on your birthday, make sure it’s a cool couple and that you’re going to have a blast. I sure did!!! Angella and Erik were married up at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Park City, followed by a stunning reception at world famous Stein Eriksen Lodge.

I know this is an older wedding, but I haven’t blogged about it yet, and it was a very special day to me personally! Rebecca and David’s wedding meant something extra special to me because it was the day I found out I was going to have a baby!!! Not right then at the wedding, it was earlier, about 1 in the morning that I found out, but you may notice more than a few pictures of children in this post.

Jennifer and Bob had their wedding at the always gorgeous La Caille! La Caille is really like a little piece of heaven, I am always amazed that such a lush green location exists amidst the Wasatch mountains – compliments to the staff who works tirelessly keeping it flawless year round! The wedding was an intimate affair, with those most precious to the Bride and Groom there to celebrate their union.

Pepper Nix Photography is featured in the new Spring edition of Utah Bride magazine! “We’re Famous!” was Jessica and Neil’s reaction when seeing their magical day in print! I am just as, if not more elated to have their wedding shared with the readers of Utah Bride and Groom! They planned their wedding a little different by having their marriage ceremony at the Salt Lake temple two days before their ring ceremony and reception up Millcreek Canyon. They wanted to have a ring ceremony where everyone close to them could witness their commitment to each other. I loved it because I had the chance to capture their wedding vows – a unique opportunity for a temple wedding! And, they didn’t have just anyone officiate the ring ceremony…Thomas Monson Jr. made their ring ceremony extra special!
