La Caille | Jesse + Jay’s Wedding Day
by Pepper
What a crazy and busy week! I just got back from the wedding photography convention in Las Vegas, and then I was immediately back on a plane there again! This time for the International Catering Convention at the Hilton, it was huge! My good friend Mary Crafts, owner of famed 5 time award winning Best of State Culinary Crafts, was asked to host a mock wedding reception, and she asked me to come down and document all the hard work her crew had put in to make it happen! I promise I’ll have pictures of it, but first, I have to finish telling the story of Jessi and Jay! [See previous post with playful/sexy engagement pictures!] Jessi and Jay had their wedding at the timeless restaurant, La Caille. Their ceremony didn’t start until 5:00 in the afternoon, but their pictures were the number one important thing to them, so we started the day off early around noon up in Park City, and had fun getting portraits of the bride and groom and the entire bridal party! Jessi and Jay did not want to see each other before, so I was very appreciative of the time they gave me to create these!

And of course we had to have some fun with her bouncing blonde curls!

The gorgeous flower displays for the ceremony and reception were created by Sean Oviatt of Sax Romney Floral, using a combination of fresh flowers and linens.

There were no actual children at the wedding, just us “big kids”! Having said that, the conday was all gone by the end of the night! Clearly there were many adults tehre with a sweet tooth!

The bride’s and groom’s cakes were meticulously designed and created by Carries Cakes.

After the ceremony, we took a few moments for some pictures with just the bride and groom…

…were interrupted by this family [who apparently thought we were the ones interrupting them!]…

…. and finally ended this quick session with a few close ups of the wedding rings.

I notice at this point that the inside of Jay’s ring is inscribed with “I Love You Mr. Trucker Man!!!” and I ask them to tell me that story. They look at each other in confusion and scramble to read the inscription, after which Jay says ‘This isn’t my ring!” They had picked it up from the jeweler the night before right as the store was closing, and apparently were given someone else’s wedding ring!!! Everything is fine now, but this is one wedding story I won’t forget anytime soon! Oh, and if you happen to see Jay walking down the street, just shout out “Hey there Mr. Trucker Man!!!” He likes it.

The reception had live music from this guy! Recognize him? This is Shawn Nelson, [AKA Shawny D, owner and CEO of LoveSac and winner of Season 1 Richard Branson's Rebel Billionaire!] playing a wedding gig in Salt Lake City UT with his buddies! They played an awesome set, and had everyone out on the floor dancing and singing by the end of the night. I asked one of the band members what he was doing out here playing wedding gigs, and the guy said Shawn just really likes it and has fun doing it. I guess when you get to this point in your life, you can do just about anything you want!

Again with the birdies walking into my pictures!!! Dude, I’m shooting ehre! Walk around me please?!

Thank you so much Jessi and Jay! I had a blast and I can’t wait for your album to arrive in the next few weeks, it’s spectacular!!!
