San Diego Temple | Rachelle + Rick | Bridal Party
Saturday, October 31st, 2009
Happy Halloween everyone! I’m still recovering from the Halloween Spooktacular, thanks to everyone who was able to come for making it the best Spooktacular yet! And now, for something completely different…
Let’s talk about Weddings! The portrait session of the Bride and Groom are one of my favorite parts of each Wedding Day.
I felt very lucky, because even with tons of things going on, Rachelle made sure that she had scheduled about an hour before the Wedding Reception began where we could focus on taking images of just her and her husband, as well as the Bridal Party. It was incredible!

I’ve talked before about how much I adore Kacey and her fiance Jake, and I hope that really comes through in this bridal session. We started off at the Salt Lake Temple taking pictures of Jake by himself while we waited for Kacey to arrive. I am a big believer in the First Look, where the first time a Groom sees his intended in her dress, it’s all captured on camera for generations to remember!
On a cold day like today when the ground is covered in snow, it makes me so grateful for my fabulous California brides, and the chance to fly out there to warm up for a few days!
This is it! The Book from one of the coolest weddings I’ve ever been privileged to document! Francesca & Dan selected a 300 side Book for their Wedding Collection, and it is gorgeous! I’m having trouble sending it out, I love looking at it so much!
Its weird to see your name on a tombstone. Besides the dead body in the room, nothing seems as final as this. I’ve actually never seen my name on a tombstone, and to be fair, it’s not my personal name, it’s my family name, but still. It’s weird.
The Finale – Part III of Alexis & Johnny’s Wedding Day at Solitude Ski resort!
For the first time ever I am going to dedicate an entire post to the Cocktail Hour. Something happened here that deserves it own post. We all know that a Wedding Ceremony is not just about 2 people coming together as one, it is also about the joining and blending of 2 families. It about each side looking at their new daughter-in-law, or their new son-in-law, and saying We accept you, and we will love you.
Welcome to Wedding Wednesday! For today’s Wedd Wed, you get to be a guest at Alexis and Johnny’s wedding ceremony! There were so many amazing pictures that I couldn’t narrow it down, so I apologize in advance! The weather was warm and slightly overcast as the over 250 guests were seated for the ceremony at Solitude Resort. I’ve now photographed over 300 ceremonies in my career, and I wish that even a tenth of them were as heartfelt as this was. But first…
I know I’ve talked about Alexis and Johnny and the absolute tender relationship they share, but even having learned that myself form their engagement pictures, I was unprepared for the raw emotion during the bridal session.
HEY PHOTOGRAPHERS! Did you know that one of the world’s premier wedding album manufacturers has its albums produced RIGHT HERE in Salt Lake City? IT’S TRUE!
Everyone knows I love weddings. It’s what I do, its in my blood! But one thing I’m always sad about on the Wedding Day is my sheer inability to stop time and spend a few hours creating the portraits that I would really love to take. That’s right, I said HOURS.
Quyen & BJ’s fabulous day concludes with a kick-ass party, dinner for 190 guests at the world-famous
Today on Album Monday I have an amazing 100 side album to show you! Grace and Richard and their spouses have all been best friends for over 20 years together.
Wow. If you thought the morning Tea Ceremony was awesome, you ain’t seen nothing yet. Quyen and BJ spent almost a year planning this spectacular and emotional event, and it showed. No detail was left to chance, nothing was forgotten. And the bride was exquisite.
[sorry to everyone for missing Wedding Wednesday yesterday, I was shooting a wedding and I can't do both on the same day!]
