Whew! Sorry to post this so late, technically for half the country it’s not even Monday anymore! My excuse: I was busy all weekend shooting and entertaining friends from out of town. It was so much fun though! You know sometimes when you have house guests and you just can’t wait until they leave? This was totally not that. This situation was the kind where you say goodbye to your guests, and you walk back into the house, and it feels emptier and not as awesome. It was a really fun weekend.
It is at last official, SPRING IS HERE BABY!!! Well, at least it is in Salt Lake City. In Park City, where I shoot most of my Utah weddings, it won’t be spring for another 6 weeks, so if you’re wondering what’s up with all of the snow covered weddings in April, that’s just Park City for you. And I wouldn’t have it any other way!
Get ready for this America – Fireside Dining at Empire Canyon Lodge. Wow. It’s not a huge mystery what this is, it’s kinda what it sounds like. Fine dining at a world-class ski lodge, and all food cooked from the 4 fireplaces at Empire Canyon Lodge. This little thumbnail you see here is 2 legs of something, slow-roasting in front of a blazing fire. This process takes about 2-3 hours, and once it’s complete, they take the legs off and serve it up. Not a big meat eater? Well, there are plenty of options for you as well!
I love winter weddings!!! The wedding you are about to witness is in one of the most beautiful locations in the world, and I feel lucky to call it home.
I had intended to write a big blog post on Saturday all about how spring had finally arrived and that I was wearing shorts and goodbye winter. Fun! I had a client consultation that morning up in Park City, and when I left it was sunny and warm and gorgeous, and I was excited to head back and get in a run! My very first run of the year OUTDOORS. See, I’m training for a triathlon. Anyway, midway to SLC, the sun…
Winter weddings are the coolest! LOL – seriously though, Utah has a thriving winter and I do get requests from many winter weddings at the ski resorts. Bear with me today, the comments may be a bit sparce, I am still not over whatever this is that I caught from my 2 year old, and the cold meds have made my brain go a bit fuzzy….
I’m back! Vegas was awesome, I got to see old friends, meet new ones, learn a little, teach a little, and had a blast doing it! I found some amazing new Album Covers for my brides [trust me, you guys are gonna LOVE these!] as well as some fun toys for me!
Hello from gorgeous Las Vegas! OK, let’s be honest, I haven’t seen much of the scenery of Vegas yet, mostly the interior of hotels and convention centers, but we’re having a blast! It’s time for the annual Wedding Photographers Convention, where we get to check out the latest and greatest inventions for the photography industry, try out every camera and lens ever built, and hang out with all of our favorite photographers from around the world! I am delighted to say that the new covers for our Flush Mount Albums look amazing [this is my first time seeing them since they were announced 2 months ago!]. The new swatches were ordered a few weeks ago so we should be receiving them shortly, I am so excited!!! Let’s see, what else have we done since we’ve been here…
Welcome to the Wedding Reception! Am I glad we did a bridal session or what?! Due to scheduling conflicts [a late ceremony starting time but the kitchen having dinner ready right on schedule] I was completely denied the opportunity to get any portraits of the couple at all! I think that was a first for me, not even getting 5 minutes! I cannot tell you how totally happy I am that we did a Bridal Session, but…
After spending so much time with Nikki & Sohil, I was so excited for their Wedding Day! We had talked about it so much, all of their plans for the decor and the other vendors they were using, the activites they had planned that evening to incorporate Nikki’s Chinese heritage with Sohil’s Pakistani wedding traditions! Nikki and Sohil told me everything, except for one very small, but very important detail:
Will & Nancy were a dream couple!
We are totally excited and thrilled to announce to our brides that we now offer Queensberry handmade matted Albums! If you are looking for a matted album, Queensberry is simply the finest there is.
