930-0331.jpg Oh man!  You can tell when we have an incredibly busy week here because the posts are slow in coming!  Believe it or not, we had an insane week and I’ve got the pictures to prove it!

But first, check out this rocking bridal session with Nikki & Sohil – gorgeous.  Remember their hot engagement session?  They brought the fire back for the bridals!  BAM!

Bridal Session | Kacey + Jake in the Desert

Thursday, October 29th, 2009

utah-desert-wedding-photography-926-0427.jpg I’ve talked before about how much I adore Kacey and her fiance Jake, and I hope that really comes through in this bridal session.  We started off at the Salt Lake Temple taking pictures of Jake by himself while we waited for Kacey to arrive.  I am a big believer in the First Look, where the first time a Groom sees his intended in her dress, it’s all captured on camera for generations to remember!

Bridal Session | Alexis + Johnny in Salt Lake City

Tuesday, October 13th, 2009

salt-lake-city-wedding-photography-Alexis-0422.jpgI know I’ve talked about Alexis and Johnny and the absolute tender relationship they share, but even having learned that myself form their engagement pictures, I was unprepared for the raw emotion during the bridal session.

We decided that since we did their engagement session in the warehouse district of their favorite city, that we would stay with the urban feel but go to the business district instead. (more…)

Bridal Session | Sarah + Andrew

909-0307.jpgEveryone knows I love weddings.  It’s what I do, its in my blood!  But one thing I’m always sad about on the Wedding Day is my sheer inability to stop time and spend a few hours creating the portraits that I would really love to take.  That’s right, I said HOURS.

Thank goodness somebody created the Bridal Session!  This is my chance to do whatever I can think of, to have fun with the personality of the dress [yes, Wedding Dresses have personalities].  It’s no longer about what can I capture from real life like wedding photojournalism is, but rather, I have a completely blank slate in front of me, what can I come up with?  It’s just a completely different beast, and I love to tame it!

McCune Mansion | Emily + Taylor | Bridal Session

Tuesday, September 1st, 2009

918-0172.jpg Emily’s Bridal session was amazing!  We started pretty early, because we had a few shots I knew I wanted to do that were going to take some time to set up, but I think in the end it was well worth it!

We were also very lucky that her fiance Taylor agreed to come to the bridal session to get in on a bit of the photographic action!  It’s alsoways fun to have grooms along on Bridal Sessions, plus I think they get to feel more involved.  It is, after all, their day too!

When I think of Emily, the first word that comes to mind is: Perfection.  She is very conscience of what that word means and strives to achieve it!  When she arrived for the bridal session, I knew everything would be perfect, but i was still blown away.  Her hair was arranged in a simple and elegant bun worn lower, her makeup was immaculate, and the dress was to die for!  Love it, love it, love it!

Argentina Wedding [Day 4] – Bridal Session

Friday, August 14th, 2009

828-0920.jpg I LOVE destination weddings.  Love it.  New places are so much fun and so exciting!!!  My favorite part of any destination wedding though, is this day.  the day that I get the bride and groom all to myself.  the day to do the fabulous bridal session in a fun and exotic location!  Because lets be honest.  There’s no way I can get tons of shots like these on the wedding day, especially with a destination wedding, where the ocean might be an hour or two away, or the light is perfect at sunset.  I love the golden hour, but more often than not, brides and grooms are sitting down to eat with their guests during that golden hour.  So bridal sittings are a very good thing.  but, with a destination wedding, it’s a must have!

So Francesca and Dan hung out with me all day, until they had to go and change for the rehearsal dinner that night [stay tuned for tomorrow's post about the amazing rehearsal dinner!]  We started off at the Four Seasons Hotel in Buenos Aires.  This hotel is famous because when Evita was in production, Madonna lived on the fourth floor in the penthouse suite.  One of the guests just happened to be staying on that floor, not in Madonna’s suite, but we thought it’d be fun to get some shots there to start off with.  And then, we discovered something wonderful, and we did something very naughty…..

Deer Valley Resort | Karen’s bridal pictures

Saturday, August 8th, 2009

Lantz-142.jpg Oh my gosh, you have no idea how excited I’ve been to publish these images!  But that’s a strict rule I adhere to, absolutely no bridal pictures until after the wedding, but ha ha, I picked these images ahead of time and can now hit the publish button from my iPhone, how slick is that!

The ceremony was awesome, but today we’re just going to admire gorgeous Karen in her dress that I got to see and no one else!!!!  [Thank you by the way - I feel very special!]

Karen got her dress at White Couture in Park City, so if you’re looking for something fabulous, definitely check them out!

A big thanks to Lillie Garrido for making all of the special arrangements for the locations, and a shout out to Paula Dahlberg for doing a great job on the makeup!

Bridals Session | Savanna in Laguna Beach, CA

Monday, June 15th, 2009

819-0426.jpg Before the wedding day, I got to spend some time with Savanna getting pictures of her in her dress, so I thought I would share a few of my favorites with you!

We started at Savanna’s home in Coto de Caza [stunning, and where the reception will be held] and then moved to a private beach where we were very surprised to find it completely deserted on such a beautiful day! Not complaining at all, just surprised by our good fortune! :D

Salt Lake Temple | Lindsay + Matthew

Thursday, April 9th, 2009

810-1703.jpg Here is is, Part III of Lindsey and Matthew’s wedding! Remember the time constraint on the wedding day? By the time the happy couple had exited the Temple, we had 90 mintes between then and the beginning of the wedding reception 45 miles away in traffic! So we decided right there that we would cut temple pictures short and not risk being late for the guests, and then ome back to the temple on a different day and get all the beautiful portraits. Matthew was especially happy we did it so soon after the wedding, he plays basketball for BYU and wanted to shave his head for the practice season! Here are a few of my favorites from of the hundreds we shot that afternoon…

Salt Lake Country Club | Brynne’s bridals

Friday, February 27th, 2009

814-0158.jpg It is official, I have a head cold. The NyQuil knocked me out for a while, but then I was awake again, and a DVR chock full of Ace of Cakes, Doctor Who, and Colbert Report couldn’t coax me back to sleep, so here I am! I know, this is insane, because I am NEVER up before 8am [thankfully neither is my son!] but it works out pretty well actually. Since I’ve been gone or traveling all week, my inbox has climbed up to 270. That’s a lot of email to get through, so an early start is just what I needed today! I’m all hopped up on DayQuil now [Seriously, God bless whoever invented these 2 drugs]. Here are a few of my favorite images from Brynne’s bridal session, it was so touch to decide because we ended up with so many that were fantastic!

Stephanie’s Bridals!

Friday, March 30th, 2007

We actually shot Stephanie’s bridals over a month ago, but she wanted these to be a surprise for her fiancé on the wedding day, so we’ve had to sit tight on sharing these sexy, smoldering images until then. And its been tough!! As of tonight, however, Danny & Stephanie are married and we are free to give you a glimpse of some highlights from our session with this beautiful Texas transplant. (more…)
