Cold cold cold cold!!!!! Heather & Mike’s reception was held at the stunning Log Haven restaurant up Millcreek Canyon! Log Haven has won a ton of awards for their food from every place that gives out awards [I can't name them all, but they have the cooler-looking awards hung on a big wall when you walk in]. Log Haven also has a special place in my heart as being the location where I met my husband!

I love this church! St. Thomas More is not only named after my all-time favorite Catholic Saint, but it’s bright and has huge windows to let the light in! Plus these really cool colored stain glass blocks behind the altar that bring a dash of zazz to a religious event.

Today has been a busy day, and after snuggling with my honey for a few hours watching the Olympics, I realized that in all my busy craziness of today and planning for the Open House [AKA party] tomorrow night, that I had forgotten to post my Album Monday!!! But I made it, with only a few minutes to spare before midnight!

Sorry I didn’t post at all this past week, I spent the time coming up with a new format to the blog, bigger teaser pictures and better use of space for verticals. It seems like such a small thing to spend that time on, but I think overall it’s going to be a much better resource for my clients and an easier read for everyone! I worked so hard that I almost missed Album Monday, but I am gonna just barely make it – woo hoo!!!
Today’s Album is for Bridget & Erik, one of my favorite weddings from 2008! They are pregnant now and that light a fire under them to pick out their images and get this put to bed before their lives get too baby crazy! Bridget and Erik decided on a 120 side 11×14 Album with Black Leather, holding 240 images from the wedding day! It is just stunning, absolutely stunning!!! They also opted for duplicate 8×10 Parent Albums for their families to enjoy as well. All 3 Albums were bound in genuine Black Leather and printed on Premium Photographic Paper. I love it when brides order their Albums in the summertime because typically the companies that produce these amazing books are busier in the fall and winter, so my Brides get their Albums back a little bit sooner, always a plus!

Its funny, I used to absolutely hate Mondays, Mondays were the worst. Then after our son was born, I started taking Mondays off. No exceptions. And Mondays have gone from being the most despised day of the week to being the absolute best! Which is kinda why I decided to make Monday the day that i get to show off my albums. When Albums come its like Christmas, so now I just get to combine the two! [Plus I look forward to writing this post when Zen goes down for his nap!] So, its nap time now, so here’s another great Album Monday!

This is a new segment I’m going to publish every Monday. Or that’s my goal anyway. But I have so many brides ask about Albums and really want to see what they look like up close, so every Monday I will bring you a new Album or Book that we’re shipping to a bride, so you will get to see how stunning they all are! [WARNING: By looking at the following pictures, you may fall in love with our Albums and need one yourself...] This album is from one of my favorite weddings of all time [and was chosen the be one of only 3 weddings featured that year in Utah Bride and Groom magazine!

OMG, do you just love this cake or what?! But I’m getting ahead of myself, we’ll get to that… This is Amanda and Cory’s wedding, who met and began dating in the EIGHTH GRADE. That’s right, this wedding was about 13 years in the making. There were many things that made this wedding great, but I think I have to say my favorite was the scheduling. That may sound pretty boring, especially since I’m teasing you with one of the fabulous details of the day, but as the photographer, I loved the schedule! We started around noon, and everything was very relaxed, very calm, no drama, everyone was getting ready and putting on makeup and having fun together! Having this laid-back day allowed people to just chill. Excellent!

I had a couple call me this week and ask to see pictures of a wedding at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, so Mike & Heather, this is for you! This is Tami & RJ’s wedding, lots of fun, lots of color, lots of alcohol, and then to top it off, a hot guy without a shirt throwing around sticks that were on fire. Seriously, this was a cool wedding for a cool couple, and although it sounds a bit cavalier to throw this word around carelessly, this wedding was AWESOME.

I have been saving writing about this wedding for one of those really crappy weather days, and today was most decidedly a crappy weather day. Well, not so much crappy, and I was just totally unprepared for it. It’s Monday, and on Mondays my nanny is off so it is kinda my day to be with my new son Zen and play. We went out to run a few errands, and it was so sunny and bright I didn’t even wear a coat, and I neglected to put socks on him. [I'm not that terrible of a mom, if i put them on he just rips them off anyway, so it would've ended in the same result regardless. That's what I like to tell myself anyway...] But we ran into one store, and 15 minutes later outside it was a freaking blizzard!!! i know the weather changes quickly in Utah, but i thought it was a bit ridiculous. We made it back to the car somewhat unscathed, he was safe swaddled in his car seat with feet covered in blanket, but I was actually covered in snow! So, tonight, I am going to be warm in my thoughts, and recall shooting this incredible summer wedding on the beaches of sunny Orange County California!

Can I just tell you how much I love winter weddings? Katy & Chris are from Newport Beach, but chose to get married in Park City Utah for a beautiful change of scenery for all of their guests. Katy and Chris will always be one of my favorite couples, not just for the way that they look at each other [thanks for the great pictures guys!] but for their willingness to try out some fun ideas and flexibility when the weather got bad, producing some of my favorite shots I’ve ever had the privilege taking. Here’s their story:

Kathy and Ian were married in Huntington Beach, California at St. Mary’s by the Sea. The sun shining through the stained glass windows made the cathedral glow. Both families and so many friends came from different parts of the world, to witness the bride and groom as they knelt at the alter and declared their love and commitment to each other, in a beautiful ceremony filled with traditions from the Catholic faith.

We were featured in the 10th Anniversary edition of Utah Bride and Groom! I was excited to shoot such a gorgeous wedding, which also happened to be my 30th birthday! Seriously, if you’re going to work on your birthday, make sure it’s a cool couple and that you’re going to have a blast. I sure did!!! Angella and Erik were married up at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Park City, followed by a stunning reception at world famous Stein Eriksen Lodge.

Recently, we had the privilege to photograph the wedding of Laurie & Jason! They were married at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Park City UT [which is one of my favorite Catholic churches, this and Saint Edward's in Dana Point CA] with a gorgeous reception at Deer Valley’s Empire Canyon Lodge.
