Newport Beach | Kathy + Ian

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

727-0852.jpg Kathy and Ian were married in Huntington Beach, California at St. Mary’s by the Sea. The sun shining through the stained glass windows made the cathedral glow. Both families and so many friends came from different parts of the world, to witness the bride and groom as they knelt at the alter and declared their love and commitment to each other, in a beautiful ceremony filled with traditions from the Catholic faith.

Goodbye Mexico [day 4]

Tuesday, January 20th, 2009

730-1460.jpg Day Four – The wedding may have been over but the party still went on. Everyone gathered the next day for brunch and laughed about what happened the previous night … some could remember more than others :) And eventually, the goodbye’s began to increase. 730-1028.jpg Day three – The wedding day has arrived! Everyone was dressed in their best and couldn’t wait to see Lindsay and Johann tie the knot. Lindsay and Johann’s Mexico Wedding! [day 1]

Friday, January 16th, 2009

730-0004.jpg Day one – We arrived in Mexico! When the plane landed and all I could see were these beautiful palm trees everywhere, I felt like we were in a tropical rain forest. It was the coolest thing ever! I have traveled a lot of places but, this was a part of the world I have never been to. And, if you’re going to come to Mexico, this is the way to see it! Oh and by the way, when you get off a plane in a foreign country and someone says they will give you a free ride to and from the hotel with breakfast included, you should know it is their attempt to stick you in a room and make you listen to a time share presentation.

Wedding Photojournalism – What it is & what it ain’t.

Sunday, January 7th, 2007

Wedding Photojournalism, once a radical departure from mainstream wedding photography, has garnered much attention over the last 10 years. As often happens when something new hits a market, it has become something of an industry buzzword with many studios claiming to offer it to one degree or another. In the process, the term has also had its meaning diluted and even co-opted. Here then, is Pepper Nix Photography’s highly opinionated rant on the real deal about wedding photojournalism.
