la-caille-winter-wedding-ceremony-photography-pepper-nix1003-0155.jpgWow.  I have never had an experience like this before in my entire life.  I had the opportunity to be a witness.

Me.  A witness!  Seriously, do I have the world’s greatest job or what?!

Album Monday | Charisse + Chad | Guestbook

Monday, April 12th, 2010

IMG_5823.jpg I am SO sorry for not posting at all last week except for my weekly Album Monday column. Please know that if I don’t post for a little while, it is because things got so busy and so crazy that I just couldn’t. My priorities are, in this order, family, brides, taxes, blog. And if my family or my brides or my accountant needs my time, it the blog stalkers who suffer.

Album Monday | Thea and John’s La Caille Wedding Album

Monday, January 4th, 2010

la-caille-wedding-photography-album-823A-07.jpgThis was an Album I was a bit sad to have to send on to the Bride and Groom, it is so beautiful!  Thea and John are awaiting the birth of their first child, a daughter, and after a year of waiting on album selections, nothing lights a fire under a bride to pick out images like a new baby!

Thea and John’s amazing 90 side album holds 179 pictures from the Wedding Weekend [including many from the rehearsal].  This Album is 11×14″ and wrapped in a golden ostrich leather cover we call Firefly, crowned with a metal cover with their favorite image of the two of them in the gardens of La Caille after sunset.  It is absolutely an amazing Album!!!!

Can I be honest?

IT ROCKED.

La Caille Wedding Ceremony | Quyen + BJ

Saturday, October 3rd, 2009

922-1078.jpgWow.  If you thought the morning Tea Ceremony was awesome, you ain’t seen nothing yet.  Quyen and BJ spent almost a year planning this spectacular and emotional event, and it showed.  No detail was left to chance, nothing was forgotten.  And the bride was exquisite.

After the morning ceremony and the delicious lunch that followed [I must thank Quyen's family for insisting that we eat, and to her sisters who got up at 4am to make all that delicious food for so many people!], everyone headed on over to the restaurant La Caille to get ready for Quyen & BJ’s second wedding ceremony!

Album Monday | Emily & Taylor’s Sign-in Book

Monday, August 10th, 2009

918-IMG_6611.jpg Album Monday is back again!  Today I’ve got a new Album for you, this is the Guest Sign-in Book.  So instead of a boring book filled with signatures and nothing else, these books show off the pictures from your engagement and bridal sessions and leave plenty of white space so that your guests can leave their thought, best wishes and congratulations with you.  The Sign-in Books are 8 inches tall, and we vary the width according to how many guests you think you’ll have coming.  Emily and Taylor knew that they had sent out 450 invitations, and we always plan on one person per invitation sent, so we went with an 8×12 book for them.  They chose a cover of black leather, but as you can see below, these albums come in just about every color under the sun!  If you are looking for a more traditional wedding album, the Guest Sign-in Book allows you to go wild and pick any color you choose!  We offer them in different page numbers as well, 20, 30 or 40 pages, again, depending on how many guests you will be inviting and how many images you would like to have in your Book.

Engagements | Danielle + Kael at La Caille

Tuesday, August 4th, 2009

Doyle-0054.jpgThis is a busy week for weddings [I've got 3!] and I almost forgot to blog the engagements before the wedding!

Here is Danielle & Kael, they win the prize for being the youngest couple I get to work with so far this year, and it was so much fun to see that young love!  Remember young love?

The guy you dated in high school who was just the coolest and made you go weak in the knees every time you saw him?  It’s fresh, pure, and exciting, and that’s the love that Danielle and Kael share!

I can’t wait to see what the wedding day will bring!

La Caille | Thea + John’s Wedding Day

Friday, July 10th, 2009

823-0550.jpgThea and John had the most amazing wedding at La Caille, and it was one of those weddings you’ve worked on so long you can’t believe it’s finally happening! I’m going into a bit of withdrawal myself, having worked with Thea & John for over a year in the planning process to now realize the wedding is over and we now just have to design the album, well, it make me feel a little sad! They were truly an incredible couple to be able to work with, and plus, they taught me that Jagermeister is really, really tasty. That’s the kind of good deed you just don’t forget. :D

Millennial Falls | Karissa + Andrew’s Wedding Day

Tuesday, March 24th, 2009

807-0682.jpg I have just come to an important realization, when you suddenly see yourself doing the same type of behavior over and over again? Yeah, I just had that moment. Today’s epiphany is that I only blog when the weather outside is either snowing or raining. I mean, it kinda makes sense, right? If the weather was great, I’d be out playing in it! I can’t believe that last week I was showing Zen the volleyball court for the first time! And now, it’s back buried under a foot of snow. I know ther are many people who really perk up when it gets cold outside, btu I am just not one of them. When it’s cold, my instinct is to hunker down with soup and cocoa. Video games also help, but I haven’t touched my Xbox in a few months now! Which is not a bad thing, it means my brides are keeping me so busy I don’t have time! I talked with a great couple this weekend Nicky & Sohil, asking about pictures from Millennial Falls. So this is perfect, because not only do I get to show them my work, but it was the most perfect beautiful day! Just like it was last week, when I introduced my son to our non-snowy backyard, and he was able to walk around it for the first time. A Perfect Day.

La Caille | Jesse + Jay’s Wedding Day

Wednesday, February 25th, 2009

815-0416.jpgWhat a crazy and busy week! I just got back from the wedding photography convention in Las Vegas, and then I was immediately back on a plane there again! This time for the International Catering Convention at the Hilton, it was huge! My good friend Mary Crafts, owner of famed 5 time award winning Best of State Culinary Crafts, was asked to host a mock wedding reception, and she asked me to come down and document all the hard work her crew had put in to make it happen! I promise I’ll have pictures of it, but first, I have to finish telling the story of Jessi and Jay! [See previous post with playful/sexy engagement pictures!] Jessi and Jay had their wedding at the timeless restaurant, La Caille. Their ceremony didn’t start until 5:00 in the afternoon, but their pictures were the number one important thing to them, so we started the day off early around noon up in Park City, and had fun getting portraits of the bride and groom and the entire bridal party! Jessi and Jay did not want to see each other before, so I was very appreciative of the time they gave me to create these!

La Caille | Elena + Jay’s Wedding Day

Sunday, February 1st, 2009

808-0187.jpg Elena and Jay were married at La Caille a few months ago, and I have to say I have never seen a bride pay more attention to detail than Elena did! It was the subject of the grooms toast as he recalled her choosing from amongst 14 different shades of white linens for their tablecloths, and while we all laughed, it brought the point home just how much work Elena had put into making her wedding absolutely perfect for her guests, so they could relax and enjoy the day. People had traveled to Utah from the East Coast, Europe and Asia, to be here to celebrate with Elena and Jay, and celebrate they did! Bear with me, there were too many beautiful images, I simply couldn’t cut them down at all!!!

La Caille | Jennifer + Bob’s Wedding Day

Friday, January 2nd, 2009

714-0656.jpg Jennifer and Bob had their wedding at the always gorgeous La Caille! La Caille is really like a little piece of heaven, I am always amazed that such a lush green location exists amidst the Wasatch mountains – compliments to the staff who works tirelessly keeping it flawless year round! The wedding was an intimate affair, with those most precious to the Bride and Groom there to celebrate their union.
